Body para 1:
In Kate Sheppard's time Women were treated very differently and not in a good way. Men treated women like dogs and men thought that a woman's place was at home as a house and that they should have nothing to do with politics. There were so many strict rules that women had to follow back then. Some of them are that they couldn’t have their own bank account and Most of the time if a female wanted to do something she had to have either her husband or father’s permission.
Body Para 2:
Kate Sheppard did a petition to help with this problem. Before she could get any signatures she did talks and wrote in News Articles about how and why women's suffrage was such an important thing. A petition is when you get people to sign a paper and then send it to the government. Did you know that Kate Sheppard Did 3 petitions. For Kate’s Petitions There were Over 500 pages of 32,000 signatures for Kate Sheppard’s petition. Kate Sheppard Then delivered the petition to the parliament in July 1893. It was only a few months after she delivered the petition that it was a law that women could vote.
Body Para 3;
Kate Sheppeard’s Petition changed The Way of New Zealand. 1893 was the year that women could vote for their government. In 1893 New Zealand Was the first to have a law that women could vote for their government. It took 6 years for Kate Sheppard to finish her petition. This means that Kate’s Petition worked.
Conclusion:
In conclusion Not only did Kate Sheppard’s Petition help New Zealand It helped change the World and how people thought.

Camp @ KVCC
Task Description: Today we had to do a blog post of the things we would keep , take out and add to our camp. We also had to question ourselves "Why do we do these events"
Captains Speeches
- They liked how people in their team stood up to be a leader even when they were not a captain.
- Most of the people in their group did not hang out much but they still got along.
- Most of their highlights were doing the activities
- They enjoyed their time at school by doing activities for three days straight.
- They got to have a shared lunch and all the year 7’s loved it.
- They liked how everyone got along
- One team learnt how to control a go kart and tried to beat the fast’s record.
- When there were times that the captains struggled the rest of the team members helped out.
- One of the captains said that they were proud to be their leader
- When one of the captains was scared that there was a ghost his team members backed him up and supported him.
Fist day of camp and the highlights.
First day.
The year 8’s from Team 5 block got to experience something so spectacular, we got to travel by bus to Kauaeranga Valley christian camp (KVCC). In the morning for our first day we did a karakia in the hall, While sitting in our groups,The groups were Kauri,Kaueranga,Coromandel and Thames (tems). Zamera And Athur were the captains for Kauri, The Captains for Kaueranga were Caleb and Leilani, Jezekaia and Mamarei were the captains for Coromandel And lastly Chance and Sione. We boarded the bus and left at 9:20 and arrived at the camp around 10:00. After we unpacked the bus we were seated in our camp groups. Zach, who is one of the staff members at the camp, explained where the boundaries of the place was. When we were told about the boundaries we headed to the gym and played some cross games. The cross games involved leadership,Teamwork and friendship.Sometime around 11:00 we did our first rotation. My group Kauri A started with Paintball But instead of guns they were slingshots. And to end the day off we had a delicious dinner, we had garlic bread, salad, chilli sauce and mince. And our dessert was ice cream and apple crumble, Unfortunately I did not have any.
My Highlights from each day.
The cross games we had
Driving a go-kart
The special stop at the water garden.
