Easter Learning Journey Day 1
Easter Learning Journey Day 1
Activity 1: Take a photo of yourself and a special object that you would pack and take with you if you were to travel around Aotearoa and the world. A special necklace, book, soft toy, a photo, special stone or shell? Post image in a blog post, introducing yourself to your audience AND an explanation as to why you would travel with this object!
This is a necklace that is special to me the reason why this is special to me is because my mum gave it to me as a present when I was eight. This isn't some sort of family heirloom or something it's just something my mum gave to me. When she was a teenager she won this from a competition, and I take this wherever I go.
Activity 2: Go here to the NZ tourism page and pick out 3 interesting facts you learn. Re-write in your own words as a second post for today!
Early Voyages: About four hundred years ago, this was before Christopher columbus and the rest of europe was worried and terrified that they were soon to fall off the earth our ancestors from way back decided to voyage thousands of miles in the enoumas unknown pasific ocean with just small ocean-going canoes. Those voyagers became the first inhabitants of New zealand Meaning they were the first ever people to find Aotearoa.
Mateship on the sporting field: In New Zealand the most popular sport is Rugby. People remember this sport like their birthday, everyone knows who plays who the winners and losers are. What brought this sport together was the mateship that they showed. This sport is so common around Aotearoa that even schools play tournaments. The first thing that comes to mind when spoken about rugby is the all blacks and how they recently won the rugby world cup (but this was before COVID-19 bagan)
Become one of the locals: visiting new zealand is a great experience especially when you meet a nice calm local. who knows maybe you guys might end up being great friends. You can have a good old chat with these kinds of people at a bar, restaurant or even just at the bus stop. The great thing about having a local friend is you can ask them any time if you need help or if you just want to know what the community is up to.
Activity 3: Go here, your journey starts here in Auckland. Watch and pick out your favourite 3 activities you’d like to do. List them on your blog with a quick explanation as to why you’d like to try them out! nm
The first place I would go to is the sky tower for bungee jumping. The reason I would like to go bungee jumping on the sky tower is because I have never experienced bungee jumping and when I do go I want to get the best and closest experience.
The next place I would visit is Rainbows end. You don't necessarily need a reason to go to the rainbows end but the reason I would go there is because I went there for a school trip in 2019 (last year) It was a blast, and I had the best time of my life.
The very last place I’d visit is mission bay. Why I would want to go to mission bay is pretty simple, YOU GET TO SWIM, FOR FREE! And you can play volleyball or any sort of beach games you can think of.
